William Phillips


 William E. Phillips, 88, of Elizabethtown, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 22, at his home surrounded by his loving family.


 He was born on June 8, 1925 in Middletown and was the son of the late Harvey and Grace Favinger Phillips.


 He was of the Protestant faith; was a member of American Legion Post 594, Moose Lodge Post 410 and the Rescue Hose Co., all of Middletown; and he was retired from Mechanicsburg Naval Depot, where he worked as a lithograph operator. 


 In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his son William E. Phillips, and six sisters Gertrude Garver, Harriet Gabner, Genevieve Patton, Jean Stesenitti, Sarah Sharp, and Nancy Nye.


 He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Betty G. Conrad Phillips; two daughters Lynne M. Hess of Linglestown, and Laurie A., wife of George Boyer Jr. of Elizabethtown; one son Harvey E., husband of Karin Phillips of Middletown; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. 


 Keeping with Bill’s wishes, the service and interment will be at the convenience of the family.

 Funeral arrangements are being entrusted to the Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Middletown.
