THE FAIR-EST OF THEM ALL
If the rides, food and musical concerts aren’t enough to keep you busy, there are plenty of old-fashioned activities: A hay bale toss, a frog jumping contest, a horseshoe pitch and, just for kids, a sack race, balloon toss and egg-and-spoon race.
The fair will crown a queen and a senior king and queen.
There will be lots of cooking and agricultural competitions, from a cake baking contest to a cutest pet photo contest, and a rodeo, tractor pull, petting zoo and arts and crafts exhibits.
This year’s theme is “An American Tradition,’’ and what could be more American than the fair’s apple pie baking contest?
The fair will be open until 11 p.m. daily, with rides opening daily at 2 p.m. and at noon on Saturday.
There is a fee for rides and parking.
