Middletown police arrest suspected heroin dealer in Ann Street raid

Posted

A suspected heroin dealer from Lebanon County is in Dauphin County Prison and denied bail after being arrested by Middletown police during a drug raid in the first block of Ann Street on April 3.

Police in a Middletown Crimewatch post said that Alexis Mercado-Maldonado, 41, was taken into custody without incident.

Police said that heroin and cocaine was recovered from Mercado-Maldonado’s vehicle.

Mercado-Maldonado was arraigned April 3 before District Judge Michael J. Smith, who denied bail and charged Mercado-Maldonado with four felony counts of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance; and one misdemeanor count of tampering with/fabricating physical evidence.

His preliminary hearing before Judy is scheduled for today, April 15.

Middletown police said they were assisted in the raid netting Mercado-Maldonado by the Dauphin County Drug Task Force and by the Derry Township Police K-9 Unit.
