Details have emerged about the attempted robbery Sunday outside the 7-Eleven at 32 N. Hanover. St. in Hummelstown, and a man and his girlfriend, both from Middletown, have been charged.

A woman contacted Hummelstown police and reported a man tried to get into her vehicle while demanding money Sunday. During the confrontation, the man kicked the victim’s vehicle, she told police.

The driver tried to leave the area but was blocked by another vehicle that was operated by the man’s girlfriend, Hummelstown police said on Crimewatch. Security footage was obtained and a picture of the man was posted asking the public for tips on his identity. Numerous tips were received, identifying the man as Dylan Pressley.

Pressley, 28, also contacted Hummelstown police and was interviewed by investigators. He said he approached the woman while she was inside her vehicle under the impression that she was someone else.

Hummelstown police charged Pressley, and he has been arraigned by District Judge Dominic Pelino. He has been released on his own recognizance and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 26.

He faces felony charges of robbery with threat of immediate serious injury and criminal conspiracy to engage in a robbery with threat of serious immediate injury. He faces misdemeanor charges of simple assault and criminal mischief/tampering with property, and a summary offense of harassment.

Court documents list his mailing address as Middletown but do not state a specific address.
