Middletown council moves this week's meeting to Thursday so it won't conflict with MAHS parade

Middletown Borough Council has moved its meeting that was scheduled for tonight to 7 p.m. Thursday, to avoid conflicting with graduation events being held this evening for the Middletown Area High School Class of 2020.

Thursday's council meeting will be open to the public and will be held in the MCSO building, next to the Municipal Building at 60 W. Emaus St.

Those wishing to attend the meeting in person will be required to wear a face mask in order to enter the MCSO.

The meeting is also to be live-streamed through the borough website, for residents who wish to watch the meeting remotely. Residents can also submit comments remotely through the website.

Among items on the posted agenda is a resolution regarding proposed temporary changes to the borough’s outdoor dining ordinance, and advertising to fill the new public safety director position to replace the chief of police position.

The council usually meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, but the meeting was moved from June 2 because of the primary election.
