Melvin E. Judy


Melvin E. Judy Sr., 95, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest suddenly on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at his home.

He was born on February 25, 1922 in Harrisburg and was the son of the late George and Katharine (Bowman) Judy.

Melvin was a World War II veteran and was a retired steelworker from the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, puttering around the house, but more than anything, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his loving wife Verna (Greiner) Judy, a daughter Patsy L. Mitchell, and numerous siblings.

He is survived by his two sons Melvin E. Judy Jr. of Lebanon, and Leroy H. Judy and his wife Lucinda of Middletown; two grandchildren Ashley L. Anderson and her husband Erik of Virginia, and Brandon L. Judy of Virginia; three great-grandchildren Landon K. Judy, Haley L. Anderson, and Parker W. Anderson; two sisters Mildred Walker, and Joan Foulkrod; and a son-in-law, Dan Mitchell and his good friend Nancy Avolese.

Memorial services and interment will be at the convenience of the family.

The family has entrusted the care of the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Middletown, to handle the funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions in Melvin’s name be made to Lebanon VA Medical Center, ATTN: Voluntary Service (10V), 1700 South Lincoln Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042.
