Marguerite L. Stine

Marguerite Laura Stine, 74, of Elizabethtown, entered her heavenly home after passing quickly and unexpectantly from an aortic aneurysm on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the Hershey Medical Center.

Marguerite is survived by her loving husband of almost 56 years, Jon Stine Sr.; two sons, Jon Stine Jr. and wife Jennifer of Elizabethtown and Scott Stine and wife Katharine of Harrisburg; and her grandchildren, Lindsey, Lauren, Maxwell, MaryAnn, and Nathanael Stine.

Marguerite was the model of a devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was patriotic and active in the community, including serving in the Lionettes, Meals on Wheels, election polling station volunteer, and caring for friends up until her passing. She enjoyed reading her Bible, watching Charles Stanley on television and attending various area churches. She quoted Joshua 3:8 a few days before her passing, “God does not require us to understand His will, just to obey it, even if it seems unreasonable.” She always had time to read, play, and shop with her beloved grandchildren. She is known by all for her enduring positive attitude and making instant friends wherever she went. She made everyone feel welcome and genuinely cared about others.

Marguerite had a natural “green thumb” and her potted plants will be maintained and cherished by her family for years to come.

Services were held on Monday, September 30, 2019. Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg, Pa.

Matinchek Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 260 East Main Street, Middletown, Pa. has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
