Lower Dauphin seniors named Students of the Month for November

Two Lower Dauphin High School seniors recently were named Students of the Month.

Brent Spencer was named Student of the Month for November by the Rotary Club of Hummelstown.

Brent is the son of Kevin and Michele Spencer. He is a four-year member of the football team playing wide receiver and defensive back. He has served as a buddy with Special Olympics for the past two years. He also played volleyball, was a member of Student Council and was involved with Ski Club for three years. He has a part-time job working at Hersheypark.

He plans to attend a four-year college and major in business administration with the goal of finding a job in the insurance field.

Kourtney Whittington was named Young Woman of the Month for November by the Hummelstown Women’s Club.

Kourtney is the daughter of Linda and Keith Whittington. She is a four-year member of the girls lacrosse team and is a team captain. Kourtney is a four-year member of the Volunteen and the Mini-THON committee, where she serves as a subcommittee captain. She is a three-year member of the National Honor Society and National Science Honor Society. She is also a member of the History Honor Society.

In the community, she serves as a mentor with Lower Dauphin Communities That Care’s study buddy program. She also has a part-time job.

She plans to attend college at a private liberal arts college and major in marketing and possibly play lacrosse.
