Looking back: More photos from last week's classic car and hot rod parade through Lower Swatara

It was an unlikely sight to see during the middle of a pandemic.

Seventy-two classic and antique cars and hot rods lined up along Powderhorn Road, waiting for a parade last Saturday through Lower Swatara Township to begin.

The parade on May 16 was the idea of resident Bruce Harter, to help people take their minds off the coronavirus pandemic.

It was more than double the participants than what the organizers expected.

“We were hoping for maybe 20 people, and we ended up with 72,” said one of the organizers, Bill Leonard.
