Joan C. Cobb

On Monday, December 9, 2019, Joan Charlene (Clark) Cobb, our loving mother, went home to take her final rest.

Joan was born February 1948, in Harrisburg Pa. to Wilbur and Lillian (Jenkins) Clark and grew up in Middletown with her three sisters and four brothers. She graduated from Middletown High School, married and raised three GREAT kids (if I do say so myself) all while working at Nationwide for 30 years.

She showed us what it meant to love deeply, be resilient and to put family above all others.

She was quick with praise, always available to help, a listening ear and a huge heart. She also wasn't opposed to sharing her thoughts with the very timely and appropriately placed 'hmmm are you sure that's not a harebrained idea'? Yes mom the motorcycle might have been a harebrained idea.

Joan was preceded in death by her father Wilbur, mother Lillian and brother Robert.

Her three children Shawn, Jennifer and Gretchen and her grandson Devan (Dawn), whom she helped raise, are left to carry her spirit, lessons and love for Luther in their hearts.

She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Will, Vicki, Phyllis, Clarence, Nancy and Michael, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Family, that's what mom loved. We will be laughing, sharing stories, looking at pictures and remembering her life and her strong love for family at a private memorial after the holidays.

In lieu of flowers please make donations in Joan's memory to the PA Breast Cancer Coalition and American Cancer Society.

The family has entrusted the Matinchek Funeral Home, 260 E. Main St., Middletown, with the funeral arrangements.
