Helen Junkins


Helen Junkins, 86, of Hummelstown, passed away on Wednesday, October 23 surrounded by her family.

She was a retired employee of H.B. Reese and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Harrisburg. Helen volunteered in Mrs. Copenhaver’s 3rd grade class at Hummelstown Elementary School for many years listening to children read. She also was a volunteer at the history center at her church helping people research their genealogy. Helen was an avid reader and enjoyed history. Many of her travels over the years were to places of history where she could learn more. She was also a member of a card club for over 30 years and loved playing bingo. Her best times though were spending time with her family and traveling with them.

She is survived by a daughter Gloria Brown, wife of David; two grandsons; two granddaughters-in-law; two great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Graveside funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 4855 Londonderry Road, Harrisburg, Pa. There was no viewing or visitation.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice Foundation at 4660 Trindle Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 or a charity of your own choosing.
