Two Middletown Area High School seniors recently were named Students of the Month for November.

Cayla M. Garman is the daughter of Bruce and Julie Garman. She has earned a place on the distinguished honor roll throughout her high school career. She is involved in many activities such as chorus, select choir, LINK Crew, color guard, winter guard, the fall play 2019, and Dauphin County Music Educators Association County Chorus. Cayla was elected as a choir representative her senior year and is a member of Tri-M Music Honor Society.

Cayla plans to attend Penn State Harrisburg to study horticulture.

“I am grateful to have been selected by my teachers and staff to receive this recognition. It’s really nice to go to a school where hard work is noticed and validated. I would definitely like to thank my family, friends, teachers and everyone else who helped and supported me through the years,” she said.

Cayla selected Andrew Vensel as her MAHS Teacher of Influence.

Dane A. Ebersole is the son of Dennis and Amy Ebersole.

He is band president as well as class treasurer. He is also involved in school activities such as chorus, FBLA, Mini-THON, LINK Crew, National Honor Society, and Tri-M Music Honors Society.

Dane has led fifth- through eighth-graders at LCBC Harrisburg in growing their faith and assists in coaching a U-10 soccer team at Olmsted.

Dane was selected by his classmates to be on the Homecoming Court. He was an employee at the Middletown Swim Club for two years as a lifeguard. He plans to attend Lebanon Valley College to study physical therapy.

“It is such an amazing honor to be chosen by my teachers as Student of the Month. I owe it to them for pushing me to be the student I am,” he said.

Dane selected Terri O’Neil as his MAHS Teacher of Influence.
