Delphin E. Klinepeter Jr.


Delphin E. Klinepeter Jr., 84, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Harrisburg Hospital.

He was born on June 21, 1934 in Middletown and was the loving son of the late Delphin E. Sr. and Elizabeth R. (McFadden) Klinepeter.

Delphin was a member of the Riverside Chapel, Middletown where he served as a Sunday school teacher and leader for many years with much dedication. He retired from AT&T where he was a telephone system technician for 38 years.

Delphin was a big supporter of all Middletown Raider sports and also loved to watch all Penn State sports. He enjoyed all types of music, was an avid learner, and was admired for his extensive knowledge of the Bible. Delphin was known for his kindness to others and ability to fix almost anything. His most cherished activity was spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Delphin was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Joan (Reidell) Klinepeter.

Delphin is survived by his sons, Donald R. Klinepeter (Barbara) of Elizabethtown, and Kenneth L. Klinepeter (Jennifer) of Middletown; daughter, Kathy M. Perrier (Gary) of Hummelstown; sister, Dolores Murray; six grandchildren Scott (Elizabeth), Christopher (Nicole), Nicholas, Matthew, Adam, and Abigail; one great-grandchild, Carson; and nephews, Cary and Jay Murray.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. at New Beginnings Church, 630 S. Union St., Middletown, Pa., with the Rev. Britt Strohecker officiating. There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Interment will be at Middletown Cemetery, Middletown.

The family has entrusted the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 260 E. Main St., Middletown with the funeral arrangements.
