Breakdown for Monday, June 1: Only 45 new coronavirus cases in southcentral region

The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed 356 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 72,282 in all 67 counties.

That’s the lowest daily increase since March 25, when 276 new cases brought the state’s total to 1,127. That was a 32.4 percent increase over the previous day’s cases, however. Monday’s increase was only about a 0.49 percent increase, by the the smallest since numbers have been reported.

The state also reported 12 new deaths, for 5,567 total, in 55 counties.
