Middletown man's death ruled natural

The Dauphin County Coroner’s office has determined that a man whose body was found Wednesday, Oct. 23 in a Middletown residence died of natural causes.

An administrative assistant with the coroner’s office said the death was ruled “a natural death” and that most likely no other information would be released.

The body was discovered Wednesday evening in a residence in the 100 block of South Union Street. Middletown police and a Dauphin County forensics unit were on scene.

As of Thursday morning, Oct. 24, Middletown police were waiting on the coroner’s report, and didn’t have further information, said Chris Courogen, borough secretary and director of communications. “At this point, it’s labeled suspicious merely because there’s no known cause.”

Middletown police Chief Steven Wheeler did not return phone calls or e-mails seeking comment.
