Strengthen family bonds and build youth skills.

The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) is a FREE program for ALL families in the Harrisburg area with children in 6th and 7th grades. Dinner, games, and prizes are offered each week. This is for all family types! Research shows that after attending the SFP program, families learned valuable skills and strategies that have helped to strengthen bonds and improved relationships among family members.

The Strengthening Families Program is being offered as part of the Strengthening Families in Pennslyvania Project, a research study by the Prevention Research Center at Penn State University.

The Program starts the week of October 2, 2012 and runs for seven weeks (one night a week). To participate in the program you will be asked to attend the majority of the meetings. There will be one session on Tuesdays and one on Thursdays. The sessions run from 5:30 p.m. (dinner) to 8:15 p.m.

You are asked to complete assessments before the program starts, at the end and one year after the end of the session.

Compensation!(in the form of gift cards):

  • First survey set - $50 parents, $25 youth
  • Second survey set - $70 parents, $30 youth
