Morning Star needs child donations: LaVonne Ackerman

Goodbye, November. It was nice, but it is time for you to go! You helped to prepare us for cold wintry winds and low, low freezing temperatures.

The first day of winter is Dec. 21. We have 22 days of fall weather and then we get to experience the deep freeze!

Speaking of cold weather ... there is a huge need for winter coats, jackets, hats and mittens at Morning Star Pregnancy Services, 35 S. Union St., Middletown. We are located in the back, right across from the Karns doors/parking lot. I have been a volunteer at Morning Star for more than 10 years and this year is the first one that we don’t have coats to offer to the children, newborn up to 5T. Usually we have lots of coats donated by this time.

We take gently used items along with brand new. We don’t charge our clients, so we are grateful whatever the community donates. Currently we need: boy and girl sizes 2T, 3T, 4T and 5T winter clothing, in addition to coats. We take diapers, wipes and toiletries for moms and kids and maternity clothing.

If you have any questions about hours of operation or needed items, please call 717-944-3888. Thank you in advance.

Please let me know your news to share and hang in there: Spring is only 16 weeks away!
