Joan Sigmund


Born in Royalton, she was the daughter of the late John and Merle Sipe Snavely.

She enjoyed her cats and spending time with her family. Prior to becoming a homemaker and raising her family, Joan had worked at the Middletown Press and Journal. She was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War, and was a graduate of Middletown High School.

She was preceded in death by two brothers John and Glenn Snavely.

She is survived by four children Michelle K. Gosnell (James) of Harrisburg, Kirk A. Sigmund (April) of Hummelstown, Beth A. Hawthorne (Douglas) of Bainbridge, and Shannon L. Dixon (Jeffrey) of Carlisle; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Joan’s Life Celebration at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 17 at Coble-Reber Funeral Home, 208 N. Union St., Middletown.

Interment with military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
