Jeffrey Stephens


Jeffrey L. Stephens, 61, passed away Wednesday, November 27, at his home in Londonderry Township, with his wife Andrea by his side. Jeff fought cancer for the past few years, staying strong and determined until the very end.

He was born on June 1, 1952 to the late Leroy M. and Romayne E. Deimler Stephens. 

Jeff was raised in Londonderry Township and graduated from Lower Dauphin High School and Saint Louis University’s Parks College of Aeronautical Technology. Flying was his passion and he worked as a pilot for Allegheny Airlines, Eastern Airlines, and most recently he traveled the world as a senior captain for GlaxoSmithKline.  

He also enjoyed riding his motorcycles, boating on the Susquehanna River and Chesapeake Bay, watching sports, wrenching in his garage, taking trips in his motor home, and visiting the mountains of Pennsylvania. 

He is survived by his loving wife Andrea M. Shaner Stephens, with whom he spent the past 21 years; his sister Lynda L., wife of Larry W. DiGiacinto of Omaha, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, at the John Wright Restaurant, 234 N. Front St., Wrightsville. Following will be a luncheon and informal gathering for celebration and remembrance. For those unable to attend the memorial and luncheon, a visitation will be held from noon to 1 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jeff’s memory to the Jake Gittlen Cancer Research Foundation, Pennsylvania College of Medicine, 500 University Drive, MC H-059, Hershey, PA 17033.
