Don’t judge a game by its first touchdown. If you did when Steelton-Highspire took on Homer-Center in the PIAA Class A quarterfinals on Saturday, Nov. 30 you would have anticipated a very different game.

That’s because Homer-Center made some moves early, scoring the first touchdown. But it was Steel-High that played smart for all four quarters, defeating the Wildcats, 40-7 at Hersheypark Stadium.

The Rollers (12-1) now advance to a semifinal game against Old Forge (13-1) at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 at Hazleton Area High School, Hazleton.

Throughout the season, Steel-High’s defense has been the quiet star, the background success story muffled by point-posting regulars like quarterback James Warren, wide receiver Logan Davis and running back Shaheim Moody-Williams.
