Despite absences from meetings, Reddinger says he’s not resigning from borough council

Ian Reddinger hasn’t attended a Middletown borough council meeting since July 16.

However, Reddinger told the Press & Journal on Monday that he has not resigned from council, and has no immediate plans to do so.

Reddinger said his absence from the council table in recent months has been due to “family issues.”

Reddinger also chairs the Industrial and Commercial Development Authority. The ICDA also has not met since July 16.

The ICDA is responsible for the Elks Theatre, which has been listed for sale on the market since December 2018.

Reddinger has been on council since May 2016, when he was appointed to fill a vacancy. He was elected to a four-year term in 2017.

Asked if he plans to remain on council, Reddinger responded that his term runs through 2021.
