I'd like to comment on a previous sound off: “If we have a Zero Tolerance Policy for our students, why don't we have one for the staff? I find it appalling that the MAHS principal was way over the legal limit, and he gets to keep his job, but if he catches a student with a thimble full of alcohol, the student is suspended for the year. And now we expect these students to respect this man, and this institution?” Depends on who the student is! If they have a parent on the school board, the zero tolerance doesn't apply to the student who did not pass drug test! The student was not suspended, continued with extracurricular activities & went on the VA trip with the band. All the students knew about it so of course the kids are going to share the news with the parents! Why should the students of school board members be exempt?

The square needs lights year round! It's so dark now that all those beautiful decorations are gone. Thanks to all the volunteers for making the square and the park the best it's ever been in the past 30 years.

If they put diagonal parking in downtown middletown i will NOT be parking there, hence i won't be patronizing downtown businesses. It's dangerous when you are backing up. Too many cars on the road now a days. It's not like it was back in the 50's when only the rich could really afford cars and only had one. The thought of having to make the already too narrow sidewalks even narrower scares the crap out of me! Walking on the sidewalk will become even more dangerous when you have to pass someone. ridiculous! I think it's soon time to move. :sigh:

Sound Off is a big reason people read the Press and Journal. There isn't much of a column since you went to the new website. I don't think people want to give their name and email address, and then have to type a code that is hard to read (hence, annoying). Personally, I don't like the new website.
