Middletown needs to take a lot of hints from Hummelstown. Now that is a model town!! They have beautiful streets, with TREES that don't get in the way, and they have nice shops and restaurants throughout. Seriously, Middletown GMEDC and the borough should meet with Hummelstown and take some advice.

To Jim Nardo, you got a little nerve saying "“This town doesn’t look good,” said Jim Nardo, the developer behind the proposed Westporte Center commercial complex on West Main Street. “Let’s not kid ourselves.” News ALERT!!! neither does the Jamesway Plaza thanks to your massive piles of dirt you've had stock piled there for the last decade.

Driving through Main Street looks like you're driving through some of the worst parts in Harrisburg. There's an old saying "You can be poor but still be clean". Take some pride with your houses and wash the dirt off of them.

I don't like the idea of angled parking. Trust me, you will see an increase in accidents as people are trying to back out and cannot see the vehicles coming. While i agree our little town needs a refresher, the Borough is going about it the wrong way.

Shade trees are important to the overall tone of a community, as well as providing beneficial oxygen exchange for greenhouse gases emitted by vehicles. I hope that when the construction is complete, the borough will consider replacing the trees that have been eliminated. I also hope that the redevelopment effort is going to address the issue of making Middletown more pedestrian and bike friendly. Bike lanes on the main streets would be a fair exchange for reduced sidewalk area. Many cities have now incorporated bike lanes into their traffic patterns with great success. Are park-and-ride and shuttle services being considered to cut down on parking needs?

I alway get in trouble when I ask questions? But here goes. Isn't North Union and South Union streets consider part of 441 a state roadway. When paving time comes I thought they paved the road trough town. Also if this is a state roadway are the permit to redesign this area being filed? Do traffic survay have to be done? Just bring something to think about before things are rushed into again. :-) I don't think the state just lets you close down there roads
