A Storybook Job

librarianpic9 16 15SLIDEPress And Journal Photos by Dan Miller -- Aly Gray, the new children’s librarian at Middletown Public Library, says inspiring kids to read is “one of the great thrills’’ of her job.

Aly Gray looks like she’s having far too much fun at work.

Her office has colorful carpet suitable for crawling, big pillows so you can sit on the floor, and a miniature rocking chair perfect for reading Dr. Seuss’ “The Cat in the Hat."

Gray is getting paid to do what she loves – reading to children and finding ways to open up young minds to the endless wonders and adventures of the written word.

Gray is the new children’s librarian at the Middletown Public Library. She replaces Beth Wagner, who was with the library for nearly five years before leaving recently to start her own business.
