Middletown Borough Council voted 8-0 to transfer management of the borough’s former highway building to its Industrial and Commercial Development Authority on Monday, Nov. 1.
The property is in demand – both borough and state officials have confirmed the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is interested in purchasing it and using the land as part of the new train station planned for Middletown.
The building is located at the corner of Grant and Wilson streets. It currently is used to store a few borough trucks and lifts, according to Chris Courogen, borough secretary and director of communications.
