Students of the Month: Middletown Area High School March 2015

 

Madison Rios and Nathan Ocker were named Students of the Month for March at Middletown Area High School.

Rios, daughter of Frankie and Kristen Rios, was captain of the field hockey team and a member of the Homecoming court. She is a member of the National Honor Society, TV production, the yearbook and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, and is chair of entertainment for the Mini-THON. She has made the Distinguished Honor Roll during her high school career.

 

She works as a barista at Starbucks.

 

She plans to attend Penn State and major in film and cinematography.

 

“I am very honored to be selected by my teachers as Student of the Month,’’ she said. “It is a huge achievement for me. I am glad that hard work does pay off.’’

Ocker, son of Keith and Jodi Ocker, is the captain of the baseball team and served as captain of the football team. He is a member of Student Council, Link Crew and the yearbook, and has made the Honor Roll. In sports, he has won the Mel Fager Sr. Award and was chosen to play in the Big 26 Baseball Classic in 2014 and was named to the Patriot-News Big 11 all-star first team in 2014.

 

He works for Smith Tree Farm.

 

He plans to attend the College of Charleston, Charleston, S.C. and study exercise science and business.
