Harriet Rhodes

Harriet C. Rhodes, 71, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 16, at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

 

Harriet Rhodes 6-19 webShe was born on April 26, 1942 in Harrisburg, and was the daughter of the late Norman and Catherine Wise Gipe Sr.

 

She was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God, Lower Swatara Township. Although Harriet thoroughly enjoyed yard sales, bingo, watching game shows, and collecting dolls, her greatest joy was the love she received from her family, especially from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ronald G. Rhodes Sr. in July of 2012, and a brother Norman Gipe Jr.

 

She is survived by her two sons Ronald G. Jr., husband of Debbie Rhodes of Elizabethtown, and Randy L., husband of Jennifer Rhodes of Palmyra; daughter Tamie R., wife of Gene Watts of Middletown; four sisters Miriam Worthy, Caroline Scott, Linda Zeller and Kim LeHew; brother Paul Gipe; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

 

A Memorial Celebration of Harriet’s Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 20 at Frey Village Chapel, 1020 N. Union St., Middletown, with the Rev. Art Sonnenberg officiating.

 

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service on Thursday at the Chapel.
